Ansam Elharan, MA, RP (CRPO), is a Canadian-trained Counselling Psychologist and graduate of the University of Ottawa. She provides trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples in English and Arabic, offering culturally responsive care grounded in warmth, compassion, and evidence-based practice. Ansam’s experience spans organizational mental health, private practice, healthcare, and university counselling. She has supported clients worldwide through thousands of cross-cultural Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultations and provided trauma-informed therapy in private practice in Canada. Her clinical background also includes a Canadian university counselling clinic and CHEO Hospital’s Oncology Unit, where she supported individuals navigating the emotional impact of serious illness.
Having lived in six countries across four continents, Ansam brings a global perspective to her work. She recognizes that culture, identity, relationships, and lived experiences shape every person’s story and believes therapy should reflect that uniqueness rather than follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Her integrative approach draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic, existential, and attachment-based therapies, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs.
Ansam works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, and those exploring questions of identity, purpose, and meaning. She also understands the pressures faced by professionals striving to balance demanding careers with fulfilling personal lives. She believes therapy is not only for times of crisis but an investment in emotional well-being, resilience, and authentic living. Her goal is to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported as they move toward meaningful change and greater flourishing.
