Dr. Nesma is a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She has 13 years of experience in psychological assessment, psychotherapy and behavioural modification for children, including those with neurodiversity, adolescents, and adults in both clinical and educational settings.
She has prepared guidelines and trained psychologists at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and several educational institutions. She is also a lecturer at a leading university and lectures at several other institutions.
She has contributed to numerous projects aimed at standardising psychological tests in the Qatari environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatar University and was actively involved in the standardisation of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale – 4th edition.
She works with adolescents and adults and has experience assessing and treating psychological illnesses and disorders, including anxiety, phobias, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, and personality disorders. She uses evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectic behavioural therapy, adapting these approaches to the client’s context and culture.
